How to prepare for Chicago winter

A great buy for those who have a two-car driveway and get 1,5 mts of snow in a season.

The best choice for a 24” machine: The Storm 2460 is still one of the best machines in the market. It cleans up a 12” snow heap like nothing but can also remove a 24” drift if required. The height reach of the machine means that you can clean that snow drift the plow leaves at your driveway each morning. Ideal for those who have a driveway around 24 mts long, getting at least 60” snowfall a year.

It’s made for running on gravel, ground and grass, asphalt, and concrete. The 208cc engine has the correct potency for this device. Solid tires give you the same traction of the 15” X-Trac pneumatics, but their grooves make them soft for turning around. It even wears poly skid shoes to avoid scratching your beautiful driveway and courtyard. Finally, but not less important, the discharge chute throws the snow wherever you want and is easy to operate. This version lacks power steering but its lightness and solid tires make it easy to move around for almost everybody as shown in this troy built storm 2410 review.

You can buy a bigger, better and more expensive snowblower if you want to, but this is a good two-stage option for your standard driveway.

Troy-Bilt Storm 2410. This is the cheapest two-stage snowblower available. The 208cc 24” Storm 2410 is quite similar to the old 5 hp Troy-Bilt Craftsman or Murray. It’s a simple device able to remove 8” to 12” and can clean up dense drifts.
